1. What are the advantages of teaching courses online?

Online courses have been proven to increase student learning. Instructors who participate in online education either through e-Learning or blended learning, report students perform better, produce higher quality work and have more meaningful discussions. Not only is online education proving to be a more efficient learning tool for students, but it also improves teacher efficiency. Instructors are able to organize course work and grading all at once through our learning management system.

2. Are lectures available online?

Yes, lectures can be posted online through our “Class Sessions” feature. This feature mimics the “in-person” lectures students experience during an on-campus course.

3. How do I interact with students?

Communicating with students is easy. We use Microsoft Lync as our collaboration feature. This allows teachers to collaboration with students and use video, audio, screen sharing, file sharing and instant messaging.

4. Can I post assignments?

Yes, as an instructor, you can post assignments within the courses you are teaching. Students download these assignments, complete them and then upload the completed assignments for instructor evaluation. Grading assignments is also made easy within our system. Instructors can open student submissions online, grade them and post the marks, all on the same page.

5. How are online courses graded?

Our online courses are comprised on an e-Book, Class Sessions, Virtual Labs, Assignments, Quizzes, Exercises and Assessments. All of these components together are used in grading a student in the online course.

6. How do I get help if I have a problem with the system?

ADU Services provides a 24/7 tech support. If you encounter an issue with the system or have any questions about how to operate the system, you can contact our tech support by email. A staff member will get back to you as soon as possible to resolve your issue.

7. How hard is it to learn the system?

Our system is very user friendly. ADU Services will provide you with an initial training session either in person or through an online meeting. We will supply with you user handbooks for both student and staff. In addition to the training session and handbooks, we also have help videos and complete walkthrough videos of our system available to you 24/7 by clicking on the “Help” icon in your toolbar.

8. Is this going to increase my workload?

No, using our system will actually help decrease staff workload. Quizzes, exercises and assessments are automatically graded for you by our system. Grades are automatically stored for every student and student reports can be pulled easily and quickly at any time.
